Overview

Associate VP Academic Affairs

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Academic Affairs serves as the strategic partner to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and is a key member of the academic leadership team. This role oversees the leadership, strategic planning, and operational management of the institution's academic programs. Focused on compliance with institutional and programmatic accreditation standards, the AVP drives academic excellence and fosters innovation in healthcare education. Key responsibilities include leading initiatives in academic policy development, program review and assessment, curriculum development, faculty development, and teaching excellence all aligned with Concorde's mission and goals.

Work Environment: Remote

Salary Range: $150K to $175K



Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities & Deliverables

    Accreditation and Compliance:
    • Ensure institutional and programmatic compliance with academic accreditation standards (e.g., ACCSC, COE, ABHES, ACEN, CAPTE, ACOTE, etc.).
    • Support the writing and review of accreditation responses for academic standards in support of the Compliance team.
    • Collaborate with campus academic leadership to develop and implement action plans to address accreditation requirements and recommendations.
    • Monitor and respond to changes in state, regional, and national educational policies and regulations
  • Academic Policy Development:
    • Draft, review, and implement academic policies that align with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
    • Establish and maintain processes for academic integrity, grading, and student progression.
    • Ensure policies are consistently communicated, understood, and followed across the institution.
  • Program Oversight and Assessment:
    • Oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of academic programs to ensure quality and relevance to current healthcare industry needs.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for academic programs (retention, completion, licensure pass rates, student satisfaction, etc.) and support campuses through a culture of continuous improvement
    • Provide leadership in the development of new academic offerings and initiatives, ensuring alignment with market demands.
  • Faculty and Academic Leadership Development:
    • Collaborate with Academic Deans to support Program Director and Faculty recruitment, onboarding, and development.
    • Foster a culture of academic innovation and teaching excellence.
    • Provide guidance on faculty evaluation and professional development initiatives.
    • Provide development and mentorship to Academic Deans.
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Participate in strategic planning efforts, contributing to the institution's academic vision and long-term goals.
    • Establish/maintain a high-performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics.
    • Recognizes and rewards employee contributions and achievements.
    • Serve as a liaison between academic affairs and other institutional departments, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Curriculum Oversight:
    • Provide leadership in evidence-based improvement of academic curricula, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and industry needs.
    • Prioritize and schedule a cycle of program reviews and curriculum revisions that ensure currency and relevance with the constantly changing landscape of healthcare
  • Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics.
  • Recognizes and rewards employee contributions and achievements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Master's degree (preferably in a discipline represented within Concorde's academic offerings) required; Doctorate (preferred)
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a post-secondary healthcare education program leadership position (e.g. program director, clinical director, department chair, or other similar position) (required)
  • Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in post-secondary healthcare Career Technical Education (CTE) (required)
  • Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated success preparing and guiding academic teams towards high achieving institutional and programmatic accreditation outcomes
  • Experience in distance education, clinically-based education, and in-person education modals (preferred)

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
  • This position is designated as Variable. This position is eligible for a remote, hybrid and/or onsite work location to meet business needs. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures. Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must meet minimum technical standards for eligibility and participation.

  • Overnight travel (up to 5%)
