The Institute of Global Politics (IGP) at Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs seeks a Senior Research Scholar or Research Scholar to lead policy relevant research pertaining to China and its regional and global impact on security, trade, development, and transnational challenges. The incumbent will additionally organize high-profile events and convenings at which scholars, policy makers and senior business leaders present and exchange ideas. The incumbent will facilitate the participation of the wider student body and faculty of Columbia university. Additionally, the position provides the opportunity for the incumbent to teach at Columbia SIPA pending school curricular needs and approval of the committee on instruction approval.

SIPA anticipates that multiple hires may be made.

Master's, or higher, degree in a relevant field required. Significant related work experience required.

Strong publication record that includes a combination of research reports, issue briefs, op-eds, and other outputs in addition to speaking engagements with diverse audiences.

The successful candidate will have expertise and awareness across multiple aspects of the intersection of these issues. In addition, the incumbent will have experience in communicating research findings clearly and concisely to a range of audiences in a manner that maximizes policy impact.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
