Job Summary & Essential Functions:

Build through-hole (THT) and surface mount (SMT) printed circuit board assemblies, placing components on boards per controlled parts lists, drawing documentation and quality workmanship guidelines.

* Assemble electrical or electromechanical devices or components using a variety of hardware/tools

o Pull up documentation required to preform work on customer assemblies

o Hand soldering of surface mount, through-hole components and complex wiring

* Repair of fine pitch/BGA

* Small gauge wire bonding

* Precise RTV application

* Fine soldering using a microscope

o Performs touch ups, rework and repair

* Fix missing/damaged PCB marking

* Repair damaged conductors and cuts

* Fix board delamination/blister

* Fix board base material damage

* Pad repairs

* Fixing lifted/missing pads/TH

* Removing/replacing conformal coating

* Replacing damaged components (e.g. Through-hole, SMT, BGA's)

o Operate a variety of equipment as needed to fulfill customer requirements

* Knowledge of soldering iron tips and chemicals

* Hot air

* Desoldering system

* Microscope

o Able to identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class

o Responsible for the proper handling of product and components

o Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area

o Perform other assignments as required

Required Skills & Qualifications:

* J-STD-001 certified

* IPC-7721 certified

* Advanced soldering skills

* Ability to read and understand engineering assembly drawings

* Ability to read and follow assembly instructions

* Ability to build electrical and electromechanical assemblies

* Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity

* Ability to use tools and testing devices

* Strong math and measurement skills

* High level of attention to detail and accuracy

* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

* Mentor Hand Solderer 1 and Hand Solderer 2
