Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Deputy Program Manager ("DPM") to join our team of highly skilled, dedicated, and motivated professionals supporting our federal customer's Infrastructure Operations Program. The Program provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting services.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the DPM will be a member of the program leadership team that oversees over 450 team members that provide 24x7x365 IT O&M services to plan, engineer, implement, enhance, maintain, and operate an enterprise IT infrastructure.

The DPM is a technical leader who will work with program leadership to evolve and refine technical strategy, ensure sound technical execution, and deliver operational excellence. The DPM will focus on leveraging ITIL/ITSM and infrastructure operations experience to plan, rationalize, and migrate on-premise legacy infrastructure into a hybrid cloud environment.

Responsibilities

    Technical Management: Provide technical oversight to the Security, Operations, and Engineering teams. Apply in-depth knowledge of relevant technologies to contribute effectively to technical discussions and lead the team and customer to make informed decisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, management, and organizational risks.
  • Project Management: Drive technical work, ensuring the team fulfills commitments and adheres to schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Management: Foster collaboration across technical teams. Develop a trusted advisor relationship with customer management, other contractors, and the contracting officer by providing value-added solutions and delivery that aligns to the customer's strategic goals.
  • Communication: Prepare and deliver executive-level reports and presentations to Peraton and customer senior leadership. Support responses to Peraton corporate data calls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating project outcomes and implementing lessons learned in future projects.

Location: The Deputy Program Manager must be local to the Washington, DC area. This position is currently hybrid. The DPM must be available to work in Peraton's office in Sterling, VA, at least one day a week and at the customer facility in Washington, DC, at least one day a week.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET Government Security Clearance with ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Possesses a current Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMI/PMP) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience with IT Service Delivery using an ITIL/ITSM framework similar in size, scope, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, rationalizing, and migrating on-premise legacy infrastructure into a multi-cloud environment (including AWS).
  • Demonstrated experience as a migration/innovation/transformation leader.
  • A minimum of seven years of management experience with a program similar in dollar value, size, scope, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading geographically dispersed operations and engineering staff of varying skill levels in a project environment similar in size and scope.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing technical and organizational strategy and crafting and implementing solutions to complex challenges with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Experience briefing and working directly with senior government and corporate leadership.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience implementing service level agreements and performance metrics on a contract.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Federal procurement process and familiarity with the administration of cost-type contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience with the SDLC process, SAFe Agile principles/ methodologies and experience modernizing the processes procedures and application support environment toward CI/CD or DevSecOps approach.
  • Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management on projects of a similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification.
  • Knowledge of Zscaler.

Education and Experience: 16 years of experience, may have management experience

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
