Work details:
  • Hours: 19 hours a week during normal business hours (8 am - 5 pm)
  • Location: Milwaukee Downtown Campus
Note: This is a grant-funded position. Funding for this position is contingent upon the terms of the grant. This position is currently funded through 06/30/2025.

The Curriculum Coordinator will review new and revised Course Outcome Summaries (COS) submitted by faculty within programs across the district. This position will approve or decline COSs against a rubric of required elements as identifying the MATC Curriculum Handbook, the MATC COS Procedure EE0121, and the COS Guidelines. The Curriculum Coordinator will identify all items in the COS and provide suggestions for revision. This position will be available to consult with the faculty developers to provide support in developing the COS and utilize databases to meet the reporting needs of state course/program approval, and request from the administration. Work requires judgment and analysis in making decisions according to established policies and procedures at the district and state levels.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall Course Outcome Summary (COS) review for faculty developers within programs across the district.
  • Use the Worldwide Instructional Design System (WIDS) to review a designated set of COSs.
  • Monitor COS progression from submission to active status.
  • Communicate with faculty developers to usher COSs through active status.
  • Alert Curriculum Department when delays in the process occur; offering solutions to barriers or challenges.
  • Work closely with the Curriculum Department, Instructional Designer, and the Academic Services team on compliance
  • issues, requesting resources as needed to address issues.
  • outcomes within the COS.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with Deans, Associate Deans, Directors, Faculty, and others.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned for the efficient operations of the division.Provide COS support and resources to faculty.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive working environment for COS collaboration.
  • Recommend training and COS process improvements to the Academic Services Team.
  • Perform other related duties as required for the efficient operations of the division.
  • Monitor the development and quality updates of course outcome summaries.
  • Provide faculty with support for course organization including the alignment of assessment for student learning
  • outcomes within the COS.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with Deans, Associate Deans, Directors, Faculty, and others.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned for the efficient operations of the division.

Qualifications

Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirements, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.

Minimum REQUIRED Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree AND at least three (3) years of related work experience in a professional setting;

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Curriculum Development, Data Systems, Technical Education or related field AND at least one (1) year of related work experience in higher education.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree with an emphasis in Curriculum Development, Data Systems, Technical Education with at least one (1) year of progressively responsible work experience in higher education or Curriculum Development or in a closely related field.

Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong reading skills with attention to detail in English language and grammar.

  • Understand and respect the integrity of complex database systems.

  • Generate reports using software systems.

  • Sound knowledge of information systems.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.

  • Ability to effectively plan projects within a complex organization involving many departments with multiple layers of guidelines/rules.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize several high-priority projects in parallel without compromising integrity or fidelity

  • Ability to build relationships to solve problems and achieve goals.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely convey ideas and information.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in adverse community, especially faculty.

  • Ability to work in teams. Collaboration is essential to the outcome of all areas.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational skills


Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports Center of Teaching and Excellence and is available starting immediately. This position is currently funded through 06/30/2025. If funding for the next fiscal year cannot be secured the position will end.

Hourly Rate: This is a non-exempt, hourly position. Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2025/2026 rates and are determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
