Responsibilities

SUMMARY

This internship position does not offer relocation assistance, and candidates must be able to work at the designated location without employer-provided relocation support. Additionally, this position is not eligible for U.S. work visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and for the duration of the internship without sponsorship.

This internship will provide fundamental experience within our Transportation & Logistics Department.

Primary responsibility for the Transportation & Logistic intern will be to get an overall experience on how each department impacts the logistics departments and our customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Participate in analytics projects to enhance current Transportation network.
  • Collect and analyze data to support research aimed at efficiency and cost savings.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying cost-saving opportunities through data-driven analysis.
  • Develop documents and presentations to provide insights on vendor/carrier performance.
  • Identify areas for potential financial savings within our supply chain via analysis of available data and implement strategies to realize cost reduction
  • Establish new systems and processes as needed for the tracking, measurement, reporting, and analysis of inbound transportation practices
  • Design and run reports to provide valuable insights to the company
  • Collaborate with other teams to complete cross-departmental projects
  • Complete other ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Complete a presentation outlining your projects, contributions, and feedback at the end of the internship program

SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGPCo Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.
  • Participate in job site safety and hazard analysis.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short communications, and memos; draft simple written correspondence; and effectively communicate in one-on-one or small group settings with customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Capable of performing calculations involving American currency and standard units of weight, volume, and distance.
  • The ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation or housing assistance is being offered.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CAD software, or other calculation software.
