What You Do. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Lead and oversee the financial management of supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
- Provide financial leadership in the development, execution, and monitoring of supply chain strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and financial targets.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization/standardization, and margin improvement within the supply chain function.
- Lead the effort to improve understanding of actual costing process and outcomes with the goal of providing enhanced insight and aligned reporting between supply chain operations and business units.
- Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain financial performance, ensuring accurate tracking of costs and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, operations, logistics) to support supply chain decision-making with timely and actionable financial insights.
- Lead the development and monitoring of annual supply chain budgets and periodic forecasts, providing recommendations for adjustments based on actual performance and market changes. Proactively communicate adjustments and drivers of change to business units.
- Manage inventory valuation, including the assessment of inventory levels, obsolescence, and slow-moving stock, ensuring proper accounting treatment in financial statements.
- Oversee the financial implications of supply chain investments, such as capital expenditures, technology upgrades, and third-party vendor contracts, ensuring sound financial decision-making.
- Review and analyze supply chain-related financial transactions, including freight costs, warehousing, supplier payments, and distribution expenses, to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate policies.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, providing insightful financial analysis and explanations of supply chain performance to senior supply chain and business unit leadership. Support annual audit as necessary.
- Work closely with senior leadership to prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and strategic recommendations for improving supply chain financial efficiency and performance.
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance within the supply chain finance function.
- Provide ad hoc financial modeling, scenario analysis, and decision support as needed to drive strategic initiatives in the supply chain.
Your Education and Experience.
- B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field required, CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of increasing responsibility in FP&A (ideally manufacturing and/or supply chain finance), with strong understanding of standard cost and variance reporting.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of GAAP, cost accounting, and supply chain operations performance analysis.
