The Sr Plant Finance Manager is responsible for leading and managing the financial planning, analysis and reporting activities for all Sargento manufacturing locations. This role is critical in overseeing the financial operations of each plant, driving process standardization where appropriate, ensuring financial integrity, and proactively identifying cost optimization opportunities. They will own consolidated reporting of all plant financial performance and serve as liaison and key business partner to Sargento business units, providing ongoing support and thought leadership for annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-term strategic growth objectives. This role will be responsible for the management and development of Plant Finance Managers and Financial Analysts.

What You Do.



  • Direct the financial control and accounting activities of all plants to assure accurate and timely preparation, recording, analysis, and communication of data necessary to control operations.
  • Lead the developing, monitoring and reporting of various KPIs and performance measures relevant to the plants, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage month end closing process for the plants, ensuring accuracy of transactions. Oversee shared responsibilities between all Plant Finance Managers. Lead variance analysis including direct labor, overhead spend, material consumption, fixed volume leverage, and overall production performance.
  • Lead the effort to improve understanding of actual costing process and outcomes with the goal of providing enhanced insight and aligned reporting between operations and business units.
  • Drive process standardization across all plants, where appropriate.
  • Prepare financial and operating reports for plant personnel, operations leadership, and corporate finance teams. Analyze the performance against forecast and budget.
  • Oversee the development of annual budget and periodic forecasts with strong plant operations engagement. Communicate the budget to plant personnel, operations leadership and corporate finance teams and field any further analysis required.
  • Analyze plant operating costs in detail and recommend action to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment.
  • Assist in developing key assumptions for BOMs and routings for new items, as well as evaluation of current items on an annual basis.
  • Assist with the preparation of CAR financial justifications for plant capital projects, with strong collaboration between engineering and plant management teams.
  • Manage CapEx budget and reporting process. Review capital project spending, timing, and cost impact against project plan, forecast, and budget to understand and report variances. Work with project managers to assure timely capitalization of equipment placed in use. Perform CAR post audits to verify savings.
  • Provide decision support on short, medium, and long-term strategic initiatives using data, sensitivity analysis, and business understanding.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop team of Plant Finance Managers and Financial Analysts by improving their analytical skills, financial vision, emotional intelligence, and communication skills. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and accurate. Assist with audit requests.
  • Complete other tasks and ad-hoc analysis as assigned.


Your Education and Experience.



  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field required, CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of increasing responsibility in FP&A (ideally manufacturing environment), with strong understanding of standard cost and variance reporting.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of GAAP, cost accounting, fixed assets, and operations performance analysis.
