Description
Hybrid Opportunity PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: This position is responsible for providing day-to-day support and assistance to the employee population as part of the Human Resource Team, while ensuring optimum effectiveness and efficiency of HR programs, initiatives, and communication. Specific functional areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, Payroll, Benefits, Tax compliance, Leave Management. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process multi-state bi-weekly company payroll in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations ensuring compliance with all company policies and statutory compliance.
- Responsible for accurate set up and system maintenance of State Withholding, SUI and local tax accounts and rates and registration of new accounts when required. Address and resolve any tax discrepancies or issues as needed. Find and correct errors in a timely manner to ensure accuracy of payroll tax withholding, minimizing potential penalties.
- Review and submit garnishments, levies, and family court orders to HRIS for proper set up and monitor for ongoing accuracy.
- Work with HRIS representatives to set up new earnings, deductions, tax and memo codes as needed ensuring appropriate taxing and compliance with company policy are upheld.
- Administration of all employee benefit programs (health, ancillary, COBRA and LOA) including enrollment/termination of employee plans, status changes, weekly benefit orientation, audit and compliance testing as needed.
- Process monthly premium invoices for health plans.
- Participate in annual benefit program review process to identify and recommend improvements to offered benefit plans. Work with the broker to develop and maintain communication tools to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the company's benefits package. Ensure all document distribution compliance issues are monitored and maintained.
- Manage ACA program reporting and compliance to ensure data collected within the HRIS is up-to-date and accurate. Ensure year end reports are completed as required.
- 401k plan oversight including employee enrollment, loan approvals, distribution/rollover requests, compliance testing and audit information requests.
- Manage Employee Leaves including STD/LTD, FMLA, State Family Leaves, etc. Keep up to date with all state regulated plans to ensure compliance. Communicate process and policy to employees, provide appropriate paperwork/application instructions and monitor return-to-work status.
- Assists with resolution of human resources, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues. Act as the liaison between employees and benefit providers/brokers as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations and best practices affecting payroll and employee benefit programs. Keep current on all federally mandated mailing requirements and ensure they are followed to ensure compliance.
- Become proficient in all aspects of the HRIS to assist managers and employees in navigating the system to submit or access relevant information as well as create and prepare various reporting requirements as requested from Management team members.
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resource experience, at least 2 years of payroll and benefits experience
- Multi-state payroll processing experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- HR certification in at least one of the following CPP, PHR, SPHR, SRHM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred
- Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS system (Paycom).
- Excellent knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, along with exceptional attention to detail.
- Time Management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
