Description

Ricardo Defense, Inc. (RDI) is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Senior Director of Capture Management to lead and manage the capture of new business within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) technical services and solution products markets. As a key leader within the Business Development organization, this Senior Director of Capture Management will oversee all aspects of the capture process to deliver winning proposals that drive strategic growth in sustainment, digital logistics, systems engineering & integration, and solution products.

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional with deep industry expertise, a proven track record in DoD capture management, and a passion for delivering creative solutions that support the mission-critical needs of our nation's warfighters.

This Senior Director of Capture Management position is located in our Troy, MI office with some travel required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of tailored, DoD customer-focused capture strategies and plans for pursuing opportunities aligned with RDI's strategic objectives.
  • Lead qualified opportunities though the entire business capture and proposal development process to include:
    • Maturing qualified leads through a progressive gate review process
    • Analyzing opportunity requirements associated with draft and final Requests for Proposal (RFP), Performance Work Statements (PWS), Requests for Information (RFI), Sources Sought, etc.
    • Shaping opportunities through white papers, presentations, and pre-solicitation RFI responses
    • Building capture and proposal strategies
    • Negotiating teaming arrangements
    • Managing the development of critical bid artifacts to include win themes, storyboards, proposal graphics, work breakdown structures (WBS), basis of estimates (BoE), data calls, post-submission evaluation notice responses, etc.
    • Collaborating closely with proposal managers to develop compliant, compelling, and competitive proposals.
    • Leading proposal color team reviews to ensure all proposals articulate compelling and differentiating win strategies.
    • Maintaining strategic awareness of post-submission proposal status.
  • Analyze customer requirements, market conditions, and competitor positioning to aid in the execution of capture strategies.
  • Partner with the business development team to qualify opportunities and develop win themes early in the capture process.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the capture process to improve win probability.
  • Support business development in relationship-building activities with key DoD stakeholders.
  • Facilitate customer meetings and presentations to shape requirements and influence procurements in alignment with RDI capabilities.
  • Stay informed on DoD procurement trends, acquisition forecasts, and funding priorities to provide input to senior leadership on market opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Lead and mentor a team of capture and proposal development professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability aligned with RDI's Core Values.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that drive quality and efficiency throughout the capture process.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards, company policies, and federal acquisition regulations.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC), and United States Government Security Clearance if needed. The minimum requirement to obtain a Secret Clearance is United States Citizenship. Only candidates that meet this requirement will be considered.
  • A Minimum of ten years of experience in progressively more responsible roles in business development, proposal development, and capture management, with a proven track record of winning solicited and unsolicited DoD contracts.
  • Formal capture training: Shipley and Miller Heiman preferred.
  • Prior military experience preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in successful business capture requiring the development of best value, multi-volume DoD proposals, to include technical, past performance, management, and cost volumes.
  • A demonstrated track record of building a successful qualified opportunity pipeline and transitioning leads into captured awards.
  • Firm understanding of all contract types (e.g., non-IDIQ, IDIQ, single and multiple award contracts) and contract structures (e.g., FFP, Cost Plus, T&M).
  • Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, policies, and requirements.
  • Experience working within a CRM tool, such as Salesforce, on a regular basis.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
