Application Window Open date: February 3, 2025 Next review date: Friday, Apr 4, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Aug 3, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor and Hospital Laboratory Director The UCSF Clinical Laboratory and the UCSF Department of Laboratory Medicine seek a full-time Clinical Pathologist to serve as the CLIA Medical Director for the Clinical Laboratories at St. Mary's and Saint Francis hospitals. These clinical laboratories provide comprehensive services in hematology, clinical chemistry, transfusion medicine, and anatomic pathology to patients at St. Mary's and Saint Francis hospitals. This position is open at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series, which emphasizes a strong commitment to clinical service and teaching. The department also supports opportunities for developing translational or collaborative research projects in Clinical Pathology. The successful candidate must have an MD or MD-PhD degree, be board eligible or certified in Clinical Pathology, and hold or be eligible for a California Medical License. Strong laboratory management experience or prior CLIA Laboratory Director experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also desirable, and subspecialty training or experience in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, or informatics is advantageous. The successful candidate will be expected to be on-site at the St. Mary's and St. Francis Clinical Laboratories to provide the leadership needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality laboratory services. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with other UCSF CLIA Directors overseeing clinical laboratories across various UCSF campuses. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700-$393,200.
