RN New Grad Residency - CVCU

The Cardiovascular Care Unit or CVCU, is a 30-bed Intermediate & Intensive Care specialty cardiac unit caring for heart failure, surgical cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients, and acute coronary syndrome- interventional cardiology and electrophysiology services. The CVCU multidisciplinary team is dedicated to providing excellent patient care to our diverse community; Our Heart Program has been named one of the nation's Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2020. This is our fifth designation - and third year in a row - to be recognized with this honor. CVCU has achieved the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Silver Beacon Nursing Care Excellence Award 2013-2016 and again in 2019.

Our nurses are specialty trained to care for this patient population with a focus on growth and mentoring; advanced certification is encouraged and promoted. We provide training along the spectrum from novice to advanced cardiovascular intensive care including training for Intra-abdominal Balloon Pump, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Targeted Temperature Management and Ventricular Assist Devices.

Background/Expertise:

• Requires BSN or non-nursing Bachelor's Degree with MSN. Candidates with an Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) also encouraged to apply. *Agreement to complete BSN within three (3) years of hire required.
• Less than one (1) year of nursing experience required.
• Unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon, required one week prior to hire date.
• BLS required upon hire.
