About the opportunity

The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue accounting for compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue, developing policies, and providing guidance on revenue-related matters. This position requires a deep understanding of revenue recognition principles, especially in the context of the technology industry, and possess the ability to translate complex technical guidance into practical application. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, results oriented, able to perform independently and effectively with the ability to drive continuous improvement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to be a team player will be key to your success.

Basic Qualifications/Skills:



  • Lead the company's revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting standards.
  • Review customer contracts and agreements to assess the appropriate accounting treatment for revenue recognition and prepare complex deal accounting packages to support compliance with ASC 606 and the company's revenue recognition policies.
  • Manage and execute accurate and timely monthly and quarterly revenue close and reporting activities.
  • Manage and execute SOX controls around revenue recognition.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations related to revenue, deferred revenue, and contract assets.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and act as a key point of contact for revenue related inquiries specific to the financial statement audit and control reviews.
  • Work with IT to investigate, troubleshoot, and test operational accounting issues and required enhancements specific to the company's revenue accounting system.
  • Drive implementation of solutions that address specific issues or provide improved efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Partner with Order Operations, Manufacturing, Deal Desk, and other internal functions on transaction-related requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve revenue accounting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.


Preferred Qualification/Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA required
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or revenue recognition, including 3-5 years of experience in a management role
  • Public accounting experience required, corporate experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and experience applying it to complex arrangements
  • Experience with ERP Systems (NetSuite, Oracle, RevStream) and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarize and present complex revenue transactions to cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Passionate about building systems and process improvements and thrive in bringing process and organization to complex environments
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, and documentation skills
