For more than 90 years, Specialty Granules LLC has been a leading producer of semi-ceramic coated, colored mineral granules for the North American residential and commercial roofing industry. Our longevity is a testament to our dependability as a supplier and the durability of our products. We have an opening for the Manufacturing Laborer position at our Ione Plant location.

Shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am

Pay Rate: $41.25/hr

Essential Function
Perform a variety of craft duties involved in constructing, maintaining and repairing plant facilities that includes a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment. With qualification, provide electrical support services to the site.

Core Competencies:

  • May perform basic mathematical operations or other record keeping
  • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work well with other employees
  • Must demonstrate ability and skill with acetylene and arc welding

Job Responsibilities:

  • As directed, performs activities associated with welding, fabrication, repair, rebuilding, installation and demolition of the plant's buildings, equipment and machinery
  • Responsible for quality of work and the safe operation of all tools and equipment under his/her control
  • Responsible for good housekeeping and safety inspection of work area
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

MSHA Certification
Prolonged standing

Lifting objects (up to 50lbs)

Computer proficiency

Extended or irregular hours

Bending

Climbing

kneeling

Stooping

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Completion of a mechanical or electrical proficiency qualification or apprentice program is desired. Previous maintenance experience in an industrial setting is required.
