General Purpose The Commercial Banking Sales Specialist is responsible for providing a full range of commercial banking services, including developing new business and client relationships; generating and managing a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships; seeking new accounts through calling efforts; as well as referring clients to lenders and other bank services as relevant. - Regularly achieves and/or exceeds agreed-upon benchmarks and annual goals.
- Evaluates the overall resources and capabilities of the client/prospect's business, considering current industry dynamic, financial, and operational strategy, economic conditions and market trends and prioritizes client/prospect opportunities.
- Builds solid, profitable relationships with clients/prospects characterized by mutual respect, understanding and trust.
- Analyzes client/prospect needs, and recommends appropriate solutions that match those needs, consistent with the Bank's culture, risk tolerance, and CARE philosophy.
- Fosters and maintains cohesive partnerships and working relationships with all lines of business within the Bank to build a trusted productive sales and service process.
- Leverages relationships to proactively generate new business in desired areas of growth; utilizes existing client/prospect base and network of clients/prospects referral sources and means of improving client acquisition and retention.
- Maintains ongoing contact with clients to be kept current on significant changes in financial condition or operations.
- Informs leadership team of products, practices, rates, and changes impacting local market and sales process.
- Conducts new product onboarding with clients and introduces them to support team network.
- Complies with government/banking regulations and policies to assure conformity with required laws and terms.
- Represents the Bank in the local community through proactive participation in community, charitable, business, and social activities to allow for maximum client and customer contact.
- Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Manages customer on-boarding through installation, training and conducts a formal handoff to Commercial Banking support team.

- Networking and relationship building skills, with demonstrated expertise and success in business development and sales processes and strategies.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, with demonstrated ability to quickly focus on key issues, make decisions under pressure of time constraints and translate business development challenges into opportunities.
- Strong planning, organizational, time management and follow up skills, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and ability to execute quickly, timely and efficiently.
- Familiarity and knowledge of industry terminology, risk, information technology, payment platforms/rails, and emerging trends.
- Ability to travel to meet with clients or visit other Alpine Bank locations.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient PC experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and retrieval of data; working knowledge of automated financial systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
Education or Formal Training:
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, preferred.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver's License is required.
Experience:
- 2+ years' experience as a Retail Business Banker, Personal Banking Representative, or similar position requiring strong business knowledge and customer contact experience required.
- Sales and service experience from previous employment can be substituted for Alpine Bank experience.
Working Conditions Working Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Travel to client meetings, internal bank meetings, and branch locations on a regular basis is necessary. Physical Activities: These are representative of those which must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee also may have to lift up to 25 pounds.
