About the Role
Join Redhorse as a dynamic ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Developer, where you'll be at the forefront of revolutionizing the Directorate of Information Management and Technology (IM&T) at a DoD agency. This is your chance to lead the charge in transforming IT landscapes by designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge scaled-agile (SAFe) features within ServiceNow, while seamlessly migrating critical data from Jira. Enjoy the flexibility of a fully remote position with quarterly travel to Arlington, VA, and/or Mechanicsburg, PA. Key Responsibilities
  • Spearhead the upgrade from ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Standard to SPM Professional.
  • Showcase the power of SPM Professional through engaging demonstrations, focusing on scaled-agile features like Strategic Planning > Enterprise Agile Planning (EAP) and Scaled Agile Framework apps.
  • Drive the implementation of ServiceNow's scaled-agile (SAFe) features, from discovery and design to configuration and testing.
  • Lead discovery workshops to evaluate the downstream impact and dependencies of scaled-agile configurations on ongoing ServiceNow development.
  • Conduct a thorough current-state technical assessment of the ServiceNow platform to recommend innovative solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Transform business requirements into actionable epics, features, and user stories.
  • Develop a solution backlog and lead backlog refinement and sprint planning sessions.
  • Collaborate with product teams to strategize the migration of data from Jira to ServiceNow.
  • Execute the migration of project, board, and issue data from Jira to ServiceNow with precision.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and knowledge transfer guides for IM&T personnel.
  • Develop and deliver impactful training materials and demonstrations for ServiceNow users.
  • Serve as the go-to ServiceNow SME, keeping stakeholders informed about ServiceNow license/platform upgrade features.
  • Provide insightful weekly status reports on progress to IM&T.
  • Engage in meetings, lead initiatives, and coordinate efforts as required.
  • Embrace additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience/Clearance
  • Current Secret security clearance is required.
  • 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 8 years with a Master's degree; or 14 years with a High School Diploma/equivalent.
  • Expertise in developing and configuring ServiceNow, especially the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Professional application.
  • Proficient in ServiceNow workflows, UI policies, permission management, and business rules.
  • Deep understanding of SPM features (Innovation, Demand, Agile Development, Project and Portfolio Management, Enterprise Agile Planning (EAP), and Scaled Agile Framework apps).
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile development processes in large-scale enterprises.
  • Knowledge of SAFe and Scrum methodologies and their integration within the ServiceNow environment.
  • Proven experience in migrating data from Jira to ServiceNow.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders.
Desired Experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and configuring ServiceNow (particularly SPM applications).
  • 3+ years of experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile development processes in large-scale enterprises.
  • ServiceNow Certifications (CAD, CIS, or other relevant certifications).
  • SAFe Certification (or equivalent Agile framework certification).
  • Experience with enterprise-level integrations; familiarity with APIs (REST/SOAP) and integration tools/plugins for ServiceNow.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) or IT Operations Management (ITOM).
