We at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center are seeking a professional and dedicated cook to join our culinary team!

This is a full time position with great benefits!

Rotating Shifts: Hours between 5:00am - 7:30pm

Cooking and Food Service experience required.

As a cook, you will play a crucial role in food production, quality control, kitchen sanitation, and collaboration with our kitchen team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes and culinary techniques,

  • Ensure the quality and presentation of all food items meet the established standards,

  • Ensure that all operations in the kitchen comply with the food safety and sanitation standards and policies set by the chef and the state.

Job Summary

Prepares all hot foods for patient trayline, cafe, and functions including (but not limited to) entrees, vegetables, starches, and bakery items.

PACE specific incumbents for this position require a minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population. Licensure: Food Handlers (as required by local Health Department). Food Handlers required upon hire for all locations for SLC positions. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
