Job Description

Coordinates Materials Operations for department, providing efficient and effective requisition processing and inventory management to optimize services. Assists in planning department operations and maintains department records.

Job Responsibility




  • Coordinates ordering, verifying, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies throughout facility; coordinates inventory control, organizes supplies, rotates stock, and ensures par levels are maintained at central supply locations.
  • Delivers proficient service through maintenance of efficient requisition processes; monitors requisition processing time frames, inventory service levels, fill rates, and associated expenses.
  • Serves as a liaison between System Material Management and other departments, vendors, and sales representatives to facilitate the smooth operations of the supply chain process and resolve issues.
  • Places orders, makes product recommendations, and obtains quotes for items, as requested.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders when supplies have not been received are damaged or incorrect; obtains return authorizations and arranges for credits, as needed.
  • Maintains department records; prepares reports and commentary detailing any deficiencies and planned corrective actions; assists in the evaluation of ordering and spending patterns and makes recommendations for cost saving measures.
  • Assists with budget preparation; provides training to new hires and staff members, as needed; assists staff with account setups; arranges vendor shows.
  • Serves as a representative at System Material Management meetings.
  • Complies with policies, regulatory agencies, and internal inspections.

Job Qualification




  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
