Physician Assistant - Medical Surgical Direct Hire Opportunity Locations: Queens, NY FlexStaff is partnering with leading hospitals in Queens, NY to directly hire Physician Assistants for their esteemed Medical Surgical Departments. This is an exceptional opportunity for career growth and professional development. The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care for patients. You will perform a variety of essential functions, including patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and outcome evaluation. The ideal candidate will also actively participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to ongoing research projects. Key Responsibilities
- Taking detailed medical histories, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and documenting findings.
- Interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating diagnoses, and developing treatment plans in consultation with attending physicians.
- Ordering and administering medications according to established protocols and monitoring for potential side effects.
- Actively participating in surgical procedures by retracting tissue, suturing, and providing other necessary assistance as directed by the surgeon.
- Monitoring patients recovering from surgery, managing pain, and addressing complications.
- Providing clear instructions regarding medication usage, post-operative care, and lifestyle modifications.
- Regularly updating attending physicians on patient status, discussing treatment options, and coordinating care with other healthcare team members.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records within established guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, required.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current NY State Physician Assistant license
- Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on certification of Physician Assistants).
- Neurology experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
