Description

Performs a variety of paraprofessional accounting duties required to maintain the complex financial records of a middle school or middle school within a secondary school; enters and maintains transactions within computerized systems; produces reporting and financial statements; reconciles and reviews financial activity for compliance to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; monitors budget allocations and provides assistance with financial forecasting.

Qualifications

Required

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate, supplemented by coursework in finance or accounting.
• Two (2) years of experience in general office administration and accounting, some at a level requiring independent judgment.
  • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
• Knowledge of general, paraprofessional accounting practices and modern office practices.
• Familiarity with applicable regulations, legislations, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to input transactions with attention to detail and in adherence to timelines.
• Ability to evaluate financial and budget data for accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to provide positive customer service and to develop and maintain effective working relationships with culturally diverse students, families, school staff, and community members.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Accounting experience in a school environment.

$52,767 - $89,072
