Intern - Materials

The Terracon Asheville office is hiring a Materials Intern for our Summer 2025 program. We offer our interns coaching, opportunities to expand their knowledge base, and the prospect of a job after graduation. This position will be primarily field-based with some time in our laboratory analyzing samples. The program term will be for 8 weeks or more beginning in early June.

General Responsibilities:
This position will conduct field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
* Performs sampling or testing as directed.
* Provides assistance to other field and/or laboratory personnel
* Transports equipment, specimens or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
* Cleans equipment, vehicles and work areas
* Assists other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks
* Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.

Requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in an engineering or geology degree program at an accredited college or university. The preferred candidate will have completed at least two years of study (rising Junior or above).
