Coordinator, Drug and Alcohol Collector (FLL) Position Summary The Coordinator, Drug and Alcohol (functioning as Drug & Alcohol Collector) conducts drug and alcohol tests, facilitates educational opportunities, and provides customer service contact for our donors/clients, in designated regions and departments. The Coordinator performs various administrative functions to ensure compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Transportation (DOT), and state testing regulations. Essential Responsibilities
- Performs, schedules, and notifies both drug and alcohol specimen collections in accordance with Federal and State regulations and JetBlue policy and standards
- Determines type of test(s) required; interprets when to test or not test; whom to test if post-accident - all in accordance with FAA, DOT, state and company regulations
- Makes determinations, based on regulatory guidance, as to specimen validity based on color/odor/temperature and donor actions
- Enforces direct-observation specimen collection as required
- Determines when to declare a "refusal to test" based on regulatory parameters and reports same to Designated Employer Representative
- Provides expert testimony to any FAA, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and state investigations and hearings as required
- Uploads and stores information to various SharePoint sites and has a good working understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Maintains breath alcohol machine calibration schedule
- Files and maintains excellent record keeping, which includes filing Chain of Custody Form (CCF), ordering supplies, and FedEx specimens to Lab; maintains and calibrates equipment
- Tracks test results and audits for accuracy with mandatory guidelines
- Facilitates educational classes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- One (1) year of experience in a service-oriented role
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must complete and pass urine drug collections, saliva testing and breath alcohol testing training
- Willing to do collections outside of normal business hours
- Able to travel and/or work variable hours, flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Will need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
- Available for frequent travel (20%)
- Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Two (2) years of previous drug and/or alcohol specimen collection experience and/or medical experience
- Completed Urine Drug Collections, Saliva Testing, and Breath Alcohol Testing training
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook suite
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Maintain schedule flexibility
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of FAA Drug & Alcohol regulations
