Sideburn Support Center

Description

Performs field inspections of facilities management/grounds maintenance and infrastructure programs; ensures contracted services are compliant with plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
  • Four (4) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: facilities, grounds management activities, public works, or related construction trades involving review and inspection activities, some of which shall have been in a lead role.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
  • May be required to work evening and/or night shifts on a regular or rotating basis, accept call-back overtime or regular overtime, and/or agree to assume emergency call-out list status.
  • Knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, procedures, and equipment used in facilities/ground management, public works, and/or related construction trades.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, structural and/or civil documents, technical specifications, civil drawings, applicable codes and regulations, and recognize deviations from such requirements.
  • Ability to effectively interface with FCPS staff, colleagues, contractors, and the general public with latitude for independent judgment and action.
  • Ability to train and oversee staff.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare complete and concise written reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Experience with basic geospatial applications (such as global positioning systems and geographical information systems).

$64,645 - $109,122
