Engineering Technician 5

In the SEM Lab, we serve as the eyes for Lam's process development teams. Our objective is high volume metrology data generation, with rapid turnaround times to facilitate more experimental iterations and a faster time to solution.

Your work will generate critical data for Lam's process development and is essential for demonstrating Lam's product to the customer. You will need to be proficient in analytical techniques centered around Focused Ion Beam - Scanning Electron Microscopes. Mastering these tools will require an understanding of the science of their operation, as well as a thoughtful and open-minded approach that can yield innovations in their operation.

• Preparation of thin foil lamellaefor transmission electron imaging
• Coordinating with team in pursuit of lab wide coverage and capacity goals
• Technical discussions regarding best-known-methods, relevant scientific concepts
• Protection of customer and company IP

* Candidates interested in the field of electron microscopy as a career
* Understanding of relevant physics - electromagnetics, kinetics
* Sees task repetition as an opportunity to iterate and innovate better methods
* Careful, detail-oriented observer
* Fond of learning and responds well to feedback

* A BS degree in a physical science, a specialized AS degree or equivalent professional training on materials science and analytical techniques preferred
* Experience operating dual beam FIB/SEM tools, especially in the preparation of thin lamellae for STEM or TEM imaging
* Experience working in a laboratory setting

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
