Heavy Equipment Operator

Murrey's Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, has an immediate opening for an Equipment Operator at our Transfer Station in Fife, WA.

In this hands-on role, you'll operate a variety of equipment to help keep the transfer station running smoothly. You'll play a key part in moving waste and supporting daily operations, all while working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Pay and Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, with workdays starting between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM, and shifts typically lasting 9 to 11 hours. Applicants must be willing to work overtime as needed
• Starting pays $25.00 - $26.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a Grizzly excavator, skid steer, yard goat for hosteling trailers, and forklift
• Assist in unloading and loading materials
• Perform regular equipment inspections to ensure safe operation and maintenance
• Manage traffic flow, directing vehicles in a safe and orderly manner
• Perform general site maintenance, including cleaning up debris, ensuring the area is safe and organized
• Maintain and repair minor equipment issues as needed
• Monitor the transfer station area for potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
• Coordinate with team members to prioritize tasks and support daily operations
• Keep accurate records of equipment usage, site conditions, and any incidents or issues
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with truck drivers and other staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Prior heavy equipment experience
• Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• A strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with a team
• Must be able to communicate in English for safety purposes; Spanish-speaking skills are a plus
• Must be able to work in environments with dust, loud noises, odors, and other conditions commonly found at a transfer station
