Dover Precision Components is hiring an HSE Manager at our Cook Compression facility located in Odessa, TX. We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to be a key contributor at our midsized service and repair center.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The HSE Manager is responsible for administering, progressively developing, and delivering systems that drive safe operating practices. This role is responsible for cultivating a productive, healthy, and incident free workplace by establishing and promoting a positive safety environment, coordinating with managers and employees to perform work in compliance with legal and other obligations as well as the company's standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Directs environmental, health and safety activities that are required by OSHA, EPA, DOT and local country/provincial/state regulationsfor Dover Precision Components.
  • Develops and presents improvement opportunities to site management and drive activities to implement change.
  • Develops and facilitates the delivery of environmental, health and safety trainings as required by company policy and local regulation.
  • Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries; Ensures that incident reports are completed accurately and timely, including the investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions; Works with legal counsel to prepare materials and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.Maintains confidentiality of all matters.
  • Partners with HR on the administration of workers' compensation program and engages the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
  • Ensures on time reporting of all assigned reports/audits/observations to the director of safety (i.e., assigned weekly/monthly safety reports, all regulatory reports assigned, retention of all required reports as required).
  • Oversees multiple sites, 3rd party contractors (industrial hygiene studies, ergonomic evaluations, and risk management assessments) where needed and works with business unit leaders to implement corrective or improvement actions.
  • Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential hazards and / or regulatory issues, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Oversees environmental, health and safety performance metrics; ensures that HSE records are maintained according to local regulations and company policies; evaluates key performance indicators to drive functional and business safety performance improvements.
  • Attends all safety meetings.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Health Sciences or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing, machining, or repair Health and Safety role(s).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of HS&E system capabilities.
  • Excellent people, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel, up to 10% of time, to other service and repair shops.

ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING/ PREFERENCES

  • Advanced safety designations from an accredited program (CSP, COSS, CSHO, CSHS).
  • Experience leading and influencing in a matrix organization structure.
