SUMMARY Responsible for the receipt, handling and processing of laboratory samples in a timely manner. They will assist with training and supporting overall laboratory order processing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Position generally requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-5 years related experience or Associates degree with 2 years related experience. Preferred is a Bachelors degree. Knowledge of ICD10 codes and 1-2 years Data entry experience. Experience working in a CLIA/CAP regulated environment preferred. LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in a one on one and small group situation. Ability to understand basic medical terminology. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in fast paced environment under standardized situations. Ability to understand and comply with all applicable laboratory regulated guidelines. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
