As an Electrical Engineer, you will execute detailed design and electrical engineering activities for facilities construction projects in upstream operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide electrical engineering expertise to support the design, construction, and commissioning of oilfield electric distribution systems. * Provide day-to-day support of electrical equipment, systems, and infrastructure. * Deliver engineering assessments of complex power systems in the form of studies and calculations to support growth plans. * Interact with a multidisciplinary team to update and track multiple electrical projects. * Execute electrical projects, update schedules, and track budgets. * Responsible for organizing project design packages and managing the bid process. * Understand and apply applicable codes, standards, and regulations from API, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, etc. * Develop hazardous area classification source forms and plans; design 34.5kV, 15kV, 5kV, 600V, and below distribution systems; engineer distribution basic, relaying, and metering one lines; engineer 15Kv, 5KV, and 600V motor schematics; perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, time current curves, circuit breaker settings, protective relay settings, grounding studies, arc flash studies, UPS and battery sizing, cable sizing, and other electrical calculations. * Develop specs to purchase electrical equipment. * Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to other team members. * This position will be accountable for the technical and constructability of products and equipment. * Makes trips to job sites to survey existing electrical conditions. * Regularly meet and correspond with field teams, leaders and vendors. * Interact daily with other engineers and project managers.
Required Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree programs. * Minimum of 3 years of electrical engineering experience. * Experience as an electrical engineer in a technical role on detailed design projects. * Must have basic knowledge of facilities and substation construction. * Previous oil and gas experience required. * Excellent written & verbal communication skills. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications: * Self-starter capable of performing with minimal supervision * Basic computer skills and ability to learn software applications
