PT Accounting Specialist
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Functions
- Assist the Aux. Accountant on Financial Aid accounting duties.
- Reconcile accounts in Banner.
- Process Journal Entries as needed.
- Review Non-OGM contracts and update contract managers on balances.
- Review ISD payments and reconcile.
- Answers correspondence, phone, and electronic mail concerning Accounting and Financial Aid reconciliations by responding verbally or in writing.
- Assist in putting together month financials for Daycare.
- Assist in audit requests.
- Reply to student emails in the AR email box.
- Perform clerical duties such as sorting mail, filing and typing, operates variety of general office equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assist in campus registration with requests from Campus Business Offices and students for setting up and answering questions regarding third party billings.
REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment without losing focus.
- Quick comprehension of new tasks, proactive in identifying and completing additional responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in data entry, proofreading, and reporting.
- Proficiency in operating office equipment and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional, courteous approach to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and reliability in handling sensitive or confidential matters.
- Proficiency in accounting principles.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and exceed performance standards with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours when required and maintain composure under pressure.
- Capability to read and interpret documentation and present data clearly using software tools.
- Competence in performing math, accounting, and statistical calculations.
- Proven ability to provide clear guidance, set performance standards, and monitor outcomes.
- Commitment to student success and educational enrichment.
- Ability to adhere to college values, adapt to procedural updates, and maintain effective working relationships.
Education and Experience:
Required Education: Associate degree in accounting or similar field.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field.
Required Experience: 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience in a higher education environment.
