Job Overview:

Provides technical support to process engineers to develop, improve, and implement processes and programs that reduce material consumption and waste disposal costs while continuing to improve quality and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

* Support safety and environmental practices
* Assist in the development of tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in assembly that optimize productivity, maintainability, and cost
* Assist with plant layouts and suggests updates to drawings accordingly
* Construct work instruction to support assembly operators

Requirements:

* High School Diploma OR General Education Degree (GED) required
* At least 5 (five) or more years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment (prefer machining and assembly background).
* At least 1+ (one) or more years of experience utilizing CAD software AutoCAD, PTC Creo or equivalent
* At least 2+ (two) or more years of experience reading blueprints & interpreting blueprints
* At least 2+ (two) or more years of GD&T experience (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

Core Competencies:

* Ability to approach a problem or situation that has not been previously encountered, gather information, make assessments, devise a number of options, recommend and implement the best option to deal with the issue
* Has the analytical ability to solve issues such as manufacturing problems and, dimensional or calculation errors
* Ability to prioritize/re-prioritize tasks and carry out root cause analysis.
* Solid understanding of plant assembly processes and overall business operations
* Strong communication and people skills
* Ability to work with little technical direction and exercise good judgment

Preferences:

* Experience with Ingersoll Rand products preferred
* Associate degree in mechanical engineering, drafting and design preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles and vibration from hammering of parts and using hand tools.
* The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places when using a ladder or operating the man-lifts.
* Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs. Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 dba; hearing protection is required while on the plant floor.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

* This position will be based 100% onsite at our Southern Pines, North Carolina facility
