Job Description
Banquet Houseperson / Attendant
The ideal candidate is passionate about service and thrives in a fast paced, changing environment. With a keen eye for detail, the Banquet Housepersonensures the room is set perfectly for each function exceeding guestexpectations. The candidate is adaptable and assists clients with all last-minute changes. The position requires a service professional with excellent organizational, technical, and communication skills. What you will be doing:
- Set up tables, chairs, dance floors, staging, linens and assist with tabletop setup as directed
- Ensure line by line delivery on Banquet Event Order requirements
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of banquet spaces and storage
- Safeguard assets and maintains all banquet equipment
- Actively furthers relationships with on-site clients and enhances Meeting planner satisfaction
- Partner with Banquet Team and audio/visual vendors to ensure seamless delivery and set-up
- Handle all guest inquiries
- Aware of all business within hotel on a daily basis and able to guide guests accordingly
- Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
- Flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous banquet experience is an asset
- Ability to take direction and read banquet event orders
- Excellent follow-through of tasks and attention to detail
- Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to balance a variety of conflicting priorities while providing guest service
- Strong guest service orientation
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to:
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
- Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending
- Constant walking and standing for up to 8 hours
- Repetitive Bending, twisting, and kneeling
- Lifting weights in excess of 50 pounds
- Pushing/Pulling/Lifting weights in excess of 50 pounds
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorizationdocuments.
