Wages

$20.00 per hour

Benefits

Paid Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST); HQB sponsors a retirement plan with automatic enrollment at 3% and a 5% employer match and immediate vesting, plus up to 10% employer contribution after one year of service.

Schedule

This is a part-time position scheduled to work 18 hours per week.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as Hallie Q. Brown's Food Distribution Driver provides an opportunity to assist the food shelf by ensuring the safe pick-up and delivery of food. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Assisting with unloading supplies for the food distribution center, taking and filling orders, and assisting with loading orders into participant vehicles.
  • Assisting customers from their front door to safely board the bus, helping them leave the bus, and delivering them to the reception area for their medical appointment.
  • Appropriately maintaining the vehicle, including performing light internal and external cleaning and checking that the vehicle is safely operating.
  • Picking up Food Rescue from our store partners.
  • Loading and unloading food donations, as well as sorting and weighing food.
  • Keeping temperature logs of the Food Rescue.
  • Performing light cleaning duties in the food shelf and taking out garbage/recycling as needed.
  • Performing errands and special projects as requested by the supervisor.



Who You Are



  • You hold a High School diploma or GED with the ability to read street maps and manifests.
  • You have a minimum of three years of driving and customer service experience.
  • You demonstrate an interest in the human services nonprofit sector; experience working in a nonprofit setting is preferred and knowledge of the Rondo area is desired.
  • You demonstrate a willingness to learn a variety of tasks and the desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • You understand the importance of customer service and maintain professionalism.
  • You have knowledge of and experience working with diverse groups of people from lower socioeconomic conditions.
  • You are skilled in conflict management.
  • You possess strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • You are able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and meet Hallie Q. Brown's driving record requirements. If your license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident to apply for a Minnesota driver's license or permit (this does not apply to new hires living out of state).
