Job Summary

W.C. Bradley Farms is looking for an experienced Timberlands Manager to join their team in Omaha, GA! The Timberlands Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of more than 25,000 acres of timberlands, with a focus on Loblolly, Slash and Longleaf Pines, and other species as appropriate. Forestry activities will focus on traditional pine plantation silviculture, native and historical species restoration, regenerative agriculture, and management for recreation, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Long-term management of timber landscape, providing best management practices and innovative methods to benefit the land and the shareholders for generations to come

* Develop and execute a long-term strategic management plan

* Source and maintain forestry-related assets and equipment

* Develop annual and long-term timber budget forecasts

* Market and conduct all timber sales to achieve optimal proceeds

* Manage harvest volumes, scale ticket reconciliations, and revenue accounting

* Lead silviculture and reforestation planning and implementation

* Oversee road construction and maintenance

* Conduct prescribed fires

* Manage contracts and contractors, including loggers, road crews and brokers

* Manage hunting leases

* Research and manage grants and partnerships and bring new ideas for effective long-term property management

* Other duties as deemed necessary

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field

Minimum Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience

License(s) / Certification(s): Prescribed Burn Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Experience with GIS hardware and software

* Heavy Equipment operation (tractors, dozers, 4x4 vehicles, etc.)

* Exceptional written and verbal skills

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

* Ability to work on a team and fulfill varying roles and responsibilities

* Ability to work in adverse field conditions

* Proficiency with software tools, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ArcView, Zoom, etc.

Physical Requirements

Represents the appropriate physical requirements to work in a normal office environment.
