Position Summary

EBI is seeking a Paralegal to support our General Counsel. In this role, the Paralegal will be part of a small legal team responsible for providing counsel and transaction support for all EBI's business units. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of matters across the company in a fast-paced environment and to develop a broad skill set. Successful candidates will embrace the challenge of solving complex issues creatively and efficiently and will demonstrate an ability to navigate cross-functional collaboration with legal and business colleagues. In this role, you will support the General Counsel directly by managing, administering, drafting, and negotiating: (a) contracts with our vendors and clients, (b) reliance and readdress letters; (c) non-disclosure agreements; (d) SaaS agreements, and other similar contracts. The successful candidate will also assist our General Counsel with other day-to-day business and legal affairs, including but not limited to, corporate governance, licensure, compliance, and litigation support.

This position will report directly to the Vice President and General Counsel, and will be based in our Burlington, MA office. As such, candidates will need to be geographically close to Burlington and comfortable working in an office environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Review and negotiate changes to transactional documents
  • Assist with preparing, filing and administering legal documents and track these through completion
  • Routinely assist General Counsel in managing the contracts workflow
  • Review legal forms and documents for accuracy and consistency
  • Research, compile and analyze data; maintain various statistical databases required by management for reporting/auditing purposes
  • Draft routine/complex correspondence to internal clients, external counsel, customers and various local, state and federal agencies as directed
  • Serve as a communications link between in General Counsel and internal employees
  • Record keeping of legal documents, including contracts, corporate and transactional documents
  • Assist with the development and update of legal processes, policies, procedures, and training materials
  • Support our Contract Administration team with our relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, including contract and insurance renewal documentation
  • Maintain the legal ticketing system and/or other legal matter management solution or platform
  • Other duties as required



Qualifications and Capabilities



  • Bachelor's Degree with excellent academic credentials; paralegal certificate a plus
  • 1-3 years of prior paralegal experience, preferably transactional / corporate experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an interest in learning
  • Strong analytic, negotiation and legal drafting skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and accurately and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to collaborate and problem solve with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Professional manner with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be discreet with confidential information
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Candidates should be able to work well as a team member but also handle significant individual responsibilities
  • O365 Suite experience required, including PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive and Teams
  • Salesforce and DocuSign CLM experience a plus
