A day in the life...

As the Lead for the [Department Name] Department, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the chocolate production process from start to finish. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that every piece of candy produced meets the exceptional quality standards our customers have come to know and love.

In this leadership position, you will direct, train, and support team members, ensuring that your department operates safely, efficiently, and in line with our quality standards. You will also be responsible for working within our SAP management system daily, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring seamless operations across all stages of production.

What will you be doing?

• Direct, control, monitor, assist and train employees assigned to a specific area, line or team per Supervisor's instructions.
• Communicating with and delegating tasks to team members.
• Operating machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe and proficient manner according to standards, guidelines and instructions.
• Maintain records.
• Deliver, inspect and perform all activities required of other members of the area, line or team.

Do you have what it takes?

(Basic Qualifications)

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read and understand tapes, scales and thermometers.
• Ability to read and understand product specifications and recognize deviations.
• Perform clean-up activities.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, and lift.
• Ability to stand on hard surfaces for the duration of shift.

(Preferred Qualification)

• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of SAP & Microsoft Office Products.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and objectives.

What it's like at the Russell Stover Plants

• Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide protective gear. We also go through in-depth Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training on your first day and continue to share safety tips daily.
• Surroundings. You'll be working around different machines - Schubert's, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy banks/steels.
• Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders, and routinely lifting 50 lbs.
• Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently around 63F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role.
• Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you may end your day smelling like chocolate!
• Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable, safety-toe shoes are required and must be ASTM Compliant.
