Qualifications

Education

High school or equivalent GED. Bachelor of Science degree in a related field preferred. Prefer food service or nutrition related field. Solid knowledge of therapeutic diets. Must understand the processed of order submission by clinicians and its processing thru the diet office to production line. Must understand and comply with the HIPAA Privacy standards. Knowledge of kitchen equipment, culinary and computer skills required. Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures, including various types of preparations and related routines. Must have knowledge of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.

Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with clients, customers and staff. Strong customer service skills

Experience

Four years of management experience in a acute care hospital or other facility with a similar size patient and retail services food operation. Prefer supervisory experience, including training and counseling employees, operating food service equipment, and knowledge of basic cooking principles, nutrition and diets. One year of experience will be accepted with a BS degree.

Licensure/Certification

Certified as Food Service Operator or ServSafe or certified within 90 days of hire. Must obtain a food handlers permit from the Cleveland County Health dept. beforehire (or within 1 week of hire) or ServSafe certification.
