Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Physician Assistant studies

• 2 Years of Nursing experience or PA experience

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN License or Physician's Assistant Certificate of Registration with the Arkansas Medical Board or be certification eligible, and be certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

• Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines).

• Must have normal communication sensory requirements.

• Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.

• Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nursing Experience in Neurosurgery or Orthopedics

• 2 Years of Nursing experience or PA experience

• Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Extend the patient care and administrative services at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.

• Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses,

• implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).

• Work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.

• Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

• Other duties may be assigned to this position.
