Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

    Fieldwork such as site investigation and characterization including sediment, soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, air monitoring, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
  • Oversight and management of drilling and logging operations associated with mining exploration or environmental projects, as well as oversight of site remediation and environmental construction projects;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring;
  • Contamination assessment, such as designing and implementing sampling plans, bench scale testing, and pilot test programs;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis/visualization of site investigation data including the preparation of tables, maps, and figures using both industry-standard and cutting-edge applications Preparation of written documents such as letters, memoranda, proposals, workplans and investigative reports; and
  • Assisting in the development of proposals and other business development activities.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 60%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Prior research experience in environmental engineering, geology, geochemistry, or hydrogeology. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred)
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
