Modality: IN PERSON in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin, performing any work *virtually) outside the state in any modality is strictly prohibited.

Under the direction of the Dean of the General Education Pathway, this instructor develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of Mathematics courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats. Must also be willing to teach high school dual enrollment courses, which includes MPS students.


Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
  • Manage the classroom/laboratory.
  • Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
  • Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
  • Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
  • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
  • Support student organizations and activities.
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.
  • Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Only those who meet ALL of the base minimum requirements* listed below will be considered.

Minimum Educational Requirements: Must have at least ONE of the following.

  • A master's degree or higher in Mathematics or Mathematics Education; OR
  • A master's degree or higher in a related discipline with at least eighteen (18) GRADUATE level coursework credits in Mathematics, Math Education or subfield.
Desired qualifications above and beyond the minimums:
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Experience in teaching and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including in-person and online

  • Online Information Management Systems - e.g. Self-Service or other online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters
  • Blackboard Ultra - Experience with Blackboard or other web-based course - management systems
  • Technology-based Instruction - Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology
  • Emerging Technologies - Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)

Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports the General Education Pathway and is available to start teaching in our FALL 2025 semester; approximately early August.

Hours/Location: Multiple classes occur at our campus locations

Salary: Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2024/2025 rates and are determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
