TITLE:

2nd shift Cutting Table Operator /Backup autoclave operator

REPORTS TO:

Production Cell Leader-Lay-up/Kitting

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The individual will have daily responsibilities related to the operating of a CNC cutting machine to prepare kits of material for job orders. Will also hand cut material as needed, assist with freezer inventory and organization and generate material traceability records (TATS-Time and/or Temperature Sensitive materials) using Epicor and Excel spreadsheets generated to track BOM quantities issued.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Will operate a CNC cutting machine to prepare kits of material for job orders.
  • Will process travelers for each job completed, label material and complete data entry into computer.
  • Will complete hand cutting of material as needed.
  • Will plan physical space for deliveries.
  • Will be certified on autoclave operation as a secondary coverage role.
  • Will monitor the stock level of material and adhesives inventory daily and will work with purchasing to order as needed
  • Will assist Cell Leader with scheduling the jobs to be completed on the cutting machines.
  • Will work with Engineering to set up new kits on cutting machine.
  • Will generate 100% lot traceability with TATS (Time and/or Temperature sensitive materials).
  • Will manage freezer via Epicor data to identify and control time sensitive materials.
  • Will verify expiration/cure dates and convey information to the lay-up cell for short lead times on all materials.
  • Will utilize TATS Trackers and Dashboards to ensure lot traceability and availability within the cell.


  • Performs job duties safely with goal of no accidents or injuries to self or others.
  • Keeps work area neat throughout the work day. Completes preventive maintenance and daily clean up within the cell following established procedures.
  • Completes all required paperwork and computer entries in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participates in and supports continuous improvement activities within the cell and in other areas of the company as assigned.
  • Reports problems and concerns to manager or appropriate individual.
  • Follows all of the company's policies, procedures and work rules.


  • Will complete other tasks as assigned by manager.



QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Must hold a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a minimum of two-five year of manufacturing experience. Previous experience using measuring and cutting tools and knowledge of inventory control a plus.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer hardware and the software required for the position to be able to set up programs, perform data entry and generate reports.
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to do basic mathematical calculations, be able to read a ruler and tape measure.
  • Must possess strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills and be able to communicate in manner that is friendly, open and courteous.
  • Must have ability to read and follow written and oral technical instructions.
  • Must be well organized, have good planning and time management skills and good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to handle a high volume work load and manage changes in scheduled work orders in a calm and professional manner.


  • Must be able to collaborate with others in a dynamic, team-oriented manufacturing environment.


  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision to complete all assigned work.
  • Must become familiar with and be able to follow the company's policies and procedures relative to employment, job specific, environmental, health, safety and quality.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed which may include time on other shifts and weekends.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands inherent in this job description.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. when needed and stoop, kneel, reach, bend, stand and walk throughout the work shift.
