Job Description:

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as link between employees, operations, and corporate HR by handling questions, interpreting, and administering company policies and helping to resolve work-related issues/concerns
  • Maintain employee data in Workday to ensure all records are up-to-date
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with Managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and create/maintain job descriptions
  • Manage background check and employee eligibility verification processes in assigned departments / assigned areas in conjunction with background check vendors
  • Conduct new hire orientations and employee recognition programs
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Review documentation for employee relations cases
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Use the Workday system for tracking employee information
  • Develop HR reports that aid decision-making
  • Manage cross-functional partnerships
  • Liaison between business unit and payroll
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field or a combination of relevant experience, education and training.
  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience across HR, operations or related area.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • HR general knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Proficient with HRIS and talent management systems, preferably Workday.
  • Experience with the E-Verify process preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail, problem solving ability with strong organization/planning skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to recognize, address and manage disputes, disagreements or discord in a fair and positive manner.
  • Serves as a trusted coach or mentor by guiding others through developmental activities.
  • Project and program management experience.
  • Experience handling highly confidential work with discretion.
  • Service mindset, well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or related software

Preferred:

  • HR experience in distribution or manufacturing.
  • Professional HR Certification.
  • Familiarity with Organizational and Team Effectiveness concepts & principles.
