Logistics Coordinator/Technician

Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Logistics & Compliance Coordinator/ Technician Laborer to join the team in Castaic, CA!

The schedule is subject to change, but will most likely beMonday-Saturday 8pm-7am (6 days per week with daily overtime)

The starting pay range for this position will be $30.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer great family benefits, a 401k with a company match, paid time off, and stable, year-round work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Replacing and repairing valves and tanks used for holding liquid
• Moving and securing hoses from trucks to tanks
• Communicating clearly with other employees and vendors regarding liquid management
• Track the location and transfers of the landfill liquids
• Work directly with our trucking vendors to collect manifests and confirm the destinations of their loads
• Inspect Tanks and Tank Farm daily.
• Maintain databases for all manifests related to liquids transport on site and leaving landfill
• Work with Compliance Manager on other projects as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS ANDPHYSICALEFFORT:

• Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, odors, hazardous materials and/or loud noises
• Moderatephysicalactivity, such as walking up and down hills, climbing stairs, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards orphysicalrisks, which require following safety precautions and training

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• HAZWHOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training is highly preferred. Ability to get the 40-hour certification once hired is required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness
• Experience working with hazardouswasteis highly desirable
• Ability to adhere to work schedule, take initiative, and follow through on challenges as they arise
• Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees
• Basic computer skills. Knowledge in Excel is required
