DESCRIPTION

Involves developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning,resource planning (dollars), and control of organizational budget. May analyze and prepare recommendations for financial plans, including annual resource allocations, future requirements, and operating forecasts.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.

This position is responsible for completing monthly financial reporting, facilitating financial operational tasks (e.g. managing POs, processing funding transfers, coordinating staff transactions), developing financial models, completing the annual operating budget, and performing numerous ad hoc tasks and reports. It is essential for the continued operation of necessary financial functions in PHSO

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two (2) years of related finance experience/training.

  • Experience and proven success with thorough knowledge in finance policies, practices, and systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Prepares basic finance and resource report for upper management.
  • Thorough knowledge using platforms such as UCSD Business Analytics Hub, SPARCM, Oracle Financials Cloud, ServiceNow.
  • Insightful in gather information needed for complex tasks such as Goods & Services Purchase Orders, Research Fund Management.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in Microsoft Excel.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,800 - $111,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.56 - $53.45

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
