RAMC is looking for a RN to join us in our Wound Clinic

Hours: Week 1: 16 Hours

Week 2: 8 Hours

Position Summary:a-The Wound Care Nurse provides acute and chronic wound care services and nursing support to patients referred to the Wound Clinic. Coordinates patient care with multi-disciplinary team members to facilitate health promotion and continuity of care in a cost-efficient manner. Evaluates patients of all ages who are consulted and/or referred by medical staff, nursing staff and other health care disciplines for wound-related needs utilizing the nursing process and according to the standards and guidelines established by professional nursing organizations and the Wound Care Education Institute. Assesses the unique needs of each patient to determine appropriate treatment plans. Tracks treatments and patient progress. Works collaboratively with other members of the wound team to determine if additional treatments or changes in care are required. Educates patients and family on wound care, infection and injury prevention and best practices to promote healing and wellness. Schedules appointments, orders home supplies, and fulfills other duties as needed.

a-Case Managers
Education and Training Required:

a-Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.

a-Current RN licensure in the state of Wisconsin.

a-BLS certified, PALS and ACLS required.

a-Advanced Certification preferred.

a-Meets health requirements.

a-Wound Care Certification (WCC); if not certified must obtain within 2 years of hire.

a-Ostomy Certification; if applicable.


Experience:

a-Wound care experience preferred.


Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

a-Ability to work in a fast paced patient environment with appropriate technological support.

a-Must be able to deal with multiple priorities in a calm matter.

a-Requires decision-making, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

a-Recognizes legal responsibilities and functions as specified by Nurse Practice Act.


Physical Requirements:

a-Physical Demands:

aFrequent standing and walking.

aFrequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10 pounds.

aOccasionally lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds when moving equipment or providing patient care.

aOccasionally bend to the floor, squat, kneel, crouch and reach overhead to assist with patient care or retrieve equipment or supplies.

aFrequent reaching in front of body while assisting patients and using equipment.

aFine motor skills needed to operate equipment, such as monitors and computers and to provide patient care, such as starting IV's, dressing changes and wound care.
