Position Overview: The primary duties of the Director of Institutional Giving are to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward foundations, corporations, and government agencies who provide restricted program support to the Council. This position develops, in partnership with Council leadership and program staff, proposals and grant applications that meet donor guidelines and provides timely reports and financial tracking of restricted grants. Key Responsibilities: Assures long-term financial support for the Council priorities by identifying, cultivating, and soliciting foundation, corporate, and government donors. Annual goals are initially $1M, with the expectation of increasing this amount in coming years. Manage and grow a portfolio of 50+ potential and existing funders by developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to attract and secure funding. Utilize a Moves Management framework for ensuring engagement opportunities and proper stewardship. Work collaboratively across teams/departments to develop programmatic funding requests, ensuring projects are inherently fiscally sustainable. Monitor proposal deadlines and manage proposal submission process including preparing and editing grant proposals, budgets, and relevant required documents. Ensure all proposals are in compliance with funder guidelines. Maintain grant and reporting schedule and prepare and edit grant project and fiscal reports as required. Conduct research to identify new funders, track year-over-year growth, and assess trends in giving and engagement. Partner with Chief Revenue Officer/SVP and senior leadership to explore philanthropic support opportunities for cross-departmental/organizational projects. In partnership with Executive and Senior Leadership, coordinate logistics and host visits with institutional representatives. Enter detailed call reports and maintain Moves Management for donors and prospects, ensuring data is maintained at the highest industry standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of seven years of experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization or relevant field. Proven track record of managing complex projects and driving organizational change. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
