Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking a Manager of Litigation Paralegals to join our team! This position will be responsible for overseeing the nationwide team of Litigation Paralegals, including managing their performance, workflow, and professional development. The Manager will develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize efficiency, enhance utilization, and maintain high standards for the quality of litigation support services delivered across the firm. The successful candidate will ensure the alignment of team operations with the firm's goals and client service expectations.



Responsibilities

    Lead the Litigation Paralegal team, including making recommendations for hiring, utilization, termination, compensation, training, development, and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with Attorneys, Office Administrators, and Practice Group Leadership to address paralegal support needs across offices
  • Work with Office Administrators and Legal Support Managers to analyze and optimize workflows between Paralegals and Assistants
  • Monitor, analyze, and assess paralegal productivity on an ongoing basis and implement improvements as needed
  • Coordinate workflow and staffing to ensure effective utilization of resources
  • Evaluate and address training needs for Litigation Paralegals, ensuring skill enhancement and alignment with firm requirements
  • Develop objective assessment criteria and establish standards to enhance paralegal skills and ensure high-quality work product
  • Create and refine litigation policies and procedures to standardize and implement best practices firm-wide
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote cross-utilization and optimize paralegal staff deployment
  • Coach, mentor, and advocate for Litigation Paralegals, fostering a supportive and equitable work environment across all offices
  • Participate in firm-wide and departmental initiatives to streamline workflows and procedures, ensuring efficiency and consistency
  • Troubleshoot workflow or personnel challenges and implement effective solutions to ensure uninterrupted support


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal required; experience from a defense firm strongly preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of people management or supervisory experience at a law firm required; national law firm experience preferred
  • In-depth understanding of litigation law practices and procedures
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, and manage a high-performing team
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with legal technology, including case management and e-discovery tools is a plus #LI-Hybrid

Pursuant to the Illinois Equity Pay Act the salary range for this Chicago based position is between $131,300 - $214,300. Pursuant to the California Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act, the salary range for this San Diego based position is between $131,300 - $214,300 and Los Angeles based position is between $137,300 - $224,100. Pursuant to the Washington DC Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this Washington DC based position is between $143,300 - $233,700. These figures represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be determined based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
