Overview

The Product Director will drive and own product management functions and the commercialization of products to our partners, working with our internal groups in marketing, sales, and operations.

This individual will have responsibility and leadership for commercial presentation material for existing retail solutions. This role will work with the product team to deliver innovation and revenue growth for new elements of Cotiviti's retail payment accuracy portfolio including direct ownership of one or more retail products.

Reporting to the VP of Audit Operations, this individual will have ownership and accountability for new product features and functions, packaging, and market launch for new and existing Cotiviti retail payment accuracy solution areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate a unique blend of leadership, product and market domain expertise in the retail payment accuracy space. A customer focus is required supported by executive presentation skills, emotional intelligence, financial acumen, and creativity.



Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Roadmap Development

Alignment with Corporate Strategy:

    • Define and create a product strategy that aligns with the overarching corporate strategy and goals.
    • Integrate corporate objectives into the product development process to ensure cohesive progress.
    • This comprehensive plan ensures the product strategy is aligned with corporate goals, leverages market insights, and fosters cross-functional collaboration, all while focusing on customer satisfaction and competitive positioning.

Product Roadmap:

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines the vision, direction, priorities, and progress of the product over time.
    • Ensure the roadmap is flexible to adapt to changing market conditions and corporate strategies.

Competitive Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth analysis of competitors to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning.
    • Leverage this competitive intelligence to position the company's product as a market leader.

Customer Product Council:

    • Establish and lead a Customer Product Council to engage deeply with clients.
    • Utilize client feedback and other market insights to identify needs, gaps, and emerging opportunities.
    • Make strategic product recommendations, including decisions to build, buy, partner, or acquire.

Executive Interaction

Capex Requests:

    • Directly interact with company leadership for ownership of Capital Expenditure (Capex) requests.
    • Present detailed business cases and justifications for Capex to secure necessary funding for product development.

Market Research and Requirements Gathering

Market Research:

    • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Strategy, and Go-to-Market (GTM) teams to understand market needs for Analytics and AI solutions.
    • Gather detailed requirements from internal and external customers to address their market problems and challenges.
    • Ensure all requirements are well-documented in epics and features for development teams.

Engineering Collaboration:

    • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure market and customer needs are fully understood.
    • Ensure final outputs meet customer requirements and expectations.

Product Solutions and Development

Product Research:

    • Conduct research to understand the solution profile and market requirements.
    • Develop detailed market and business requirements for analytics products, maintaining user personas and scenarios.

Solution Guidance:

    • Provide guidance and support for various departments including Engineering, Operations, Technical Writing, IT/Release, Training, Client Services, and Sales.
    • Conceive analytic-driven methods to improve product precision, value, and efficiency.

Product Lifecycle Management

Planning and Execution:

    • Contribute to product planning and oversee execution throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements to define product vision and maintain program backlog.

Coordination and Management:

    • Coordinate activities across the product portfolio to ensure consistency, reduce time-to-market, and drive innovation.
    • Manage interdependencies to improve operational efficiency and enhance analytic models.

Product Gap Analysis:

    • Assist the VP of Solutions in prioritizing innovation based on sound business cases and market/customer needs.
    • Identify key product gaps and develop strategies to reduce them, enhancing customer experience.

Development and Performance Review

Product Development:

    • Drive the development of the product, including analytics, technology, and services components.
    • Deliver functional specifications and stories with prioritized features, assess partnerships, run beta programs, and incorporate feedback for product enhancement.

Performance Review:

    • Review product performance against expectations and make necessary adjustments to improve competitive positioning.
    • Ensure all new product releases meet high-quality standards and demonstrate progress through clear metrics.

Cross-functional Collaboration and Representation

Support and Communication:

    • Provide guidance and support for New Products, Account Management, and Client Services.
    • Offer technical sales support and interact with key customers and prospective clients.

Professional Environment:

    • Promote a collaborative and collegial working environment that encourages staff participation.
    • Represent the company as a domain expert at trade events and contribute to marketing content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance; or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Retail Payment Accuracy industry business operations is required with a minimum of 10 years of increasing levels of responsibility and oversight, managing products.
  • Product management experience - conceiving, socializing, creating, and delivering products or solutions.
  • Strong ability to provide and coordinate subject matter expertise to establish product direction and roadmaps.
  • Must be comfortable with technology and software.
  • Must be self-motivated and passionate about creating application and workflow solutions for diverse and challenging problems.
  • Team leadership experience is required, with proven ability to lead initiatives, plan activities and resources, work hands-on, manage/develop staff, and mentor junior members.
  • Team-player, with strong communication, motivational, and mentoring skills.

Mental Requirements:

  • Strong presentation and customer (internal/external) engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to identify novel product opportunities and problem-solving and implementation skills to operationalize them.
  • Strong project management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Travel - at least 10% of the time

Base compensation ranges from $145,000 to $180,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
