The Impact You Will Have

We are seeking a motivated Associate System Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. As an Associate System Engineer at BCBS, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing our workflow processes, system monitoring, and Managed File Transfer along with Batch Scheduling automation. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for technology and a desire to grow their career within IT.

Ideally, this role is hybrid, 2 days a week in office, out of Eagan, MN.

This role will also require on call after hours and on weekends one week per month to address any urgent system issues

A Day in the Life:
  • Maintain and manage workflow processes to ensure efficient and effective operations, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to streamline processes.
  • Oversee file transfer processes, ensuring secure and efficient data transfer between systems.
  • Manage computing environments (Production, Quality, Test) to ensure stability, performance, and security.
  • Monitor and report system errors, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our systems and processes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system-related issues, working closely with other IT team members to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experiences:
  • 2+ years' related experience or Bachelor's degree. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
  • 1 year experience in an IT capability/technology.
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or higher
  • Amazon AWS Cloud Practitioner or higher
  • Acquiring basic knowledge of infrastructure design, implementation, administration, planning, developing.
  • Acquiring basic knowledge of technical, business, and industry.
  • Developing oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Developing human relations skills to effectively interact with leadership and management, peers, business partners and vendors.
  • Developing basic skills at systems, creative, critical and analytical thinking, decision making and problem solving.
  • Developing basic understanding of the standards and deliverables to ensure integrity of the systems engineering process.
  • Acquiring basic knowledge of internal area applications.
  • Developing skills at hands-on communication, collaboration and leadership.
Nice To Have:
  • Prior experience with managing and improving workflow processes
  • Actively seeks out answers and is always looking for process improvements, showing a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
  • Cloud Service Provider Certification (e.g., AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, etc.) - required within 1 year of employment

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $77,200.00 - $102,300.00 - $127,400.00 Annual

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
