Watlow is offering an exciting opportunity to join their World class Technical Development Organization and specifically our Power Design team responsible for developing our range of industrial devices to solve Customer electrification problems.

Responsibilities:


  • Support the development and design of power systems, including megawatt-scale 3-phase power distribution, components and infrastructure, relays and protection, safety systems, harmonics and relevant agency requirements (UL, IEC, etc.)
  • Review and approve design specifications in relation to customer, agency, and market requirements
  • Approve project plans
  • Approve product architecture, design approaches, and new design for systems
  • Approve test requirements and plans
  • Approve qualification of new materials and components
  • Identify and understand customer needs

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 7+ years of industry experience in electrical design and development with multiple years of experience in medium voltage
  • Significant knowledge and experience in the following technical areas:

    • Power systems, including megawatt-scale 3-phase power distribution, components, and infrastructure, relays and protection, safety systems, harmonics, relevant agency requirements, e.g., UL, IEC, etc.
    • Thyristor power controls


  • Previous Watlow experience is preferred
