Overview

Otter Products is hiring a Sr. Manager, Software Engineering & Technology to join our team. This role can be based in Fort Collins, CO or remotely in the US.

As the Sr. Manager, Software Engineering and Technology, you will be responsible for managing the work efforts of assigned director reports in the execution of strategic plans, processes, and procedure within the organization's Front End software development function. In this role you will the work of a team of software engineers and other professionals responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting applications or systems software, which may include web or mobile applications. As the Sr. Manager, Software Engineering & Technology you will be responsible for the professional development of your team, providing mentoring and coaching, contributing to performance appraisals and hiring/offboarding decisions.

The successful candidate possesses comprehensive knowledge of Font End software engineering concepts and principles and applies that knowledge while leading their team and determining problem resolution within the scope of operational policies. This is a people leader position.

Responsibilities

    Lead a team of software engineers, providing technical and personal leadership to your team members and stakeholders.
  • Act as a leader of our engineering practice, providing input on our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), architecture, testing & documentation standards, and cloud adoption strategy (AWS)
  • Set the standard for technical excellence, and foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and teamwork
  • Contribute to our vendor integration strategy, helping define the requirements we expect of the vendors that work on our development projects
  • Liaison with our Technical Project Manager, IT Business Partners, and stakeholders, providing oversight and contributing to level of effort estimates across teams and projects
  • Create, maintain, and report on key performance metrics for your teams, including velocity and capacity planning
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by being an active leader in all safety program initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Minimum of eight years of IT/software engineering experience, with an emphasis on Front End or full stack is required.
  • Minimum of two years in a manager, or higher-level people leader, role is required.
  • Experience with an ecommerce platform required. Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Infor, Shopify, or similar platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in secure coding practices, with the ability to write and review code ensuring the protection of the company and consumer data.

USD $188,000.00/Yr.


For US Based Roles Only - Base Compensation Range Maximum

USD $210,000.00/Yr.
